Advent says, “Wake up and realize the gifts of love you have received.” — Fr. Alfred McBride, O.Praem, author

Well hello there, Mary. Today is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Our Lady of Guadalupe is the name of an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which took place in Mexico in December, 1531. She appeared on the hill of Tepeyac to Juan Diego, an Aztec convert to Christianity. Our Lady told Juan Diego to build a church on the spot where she appeared. After some back-and-forth with the local bishop, Mary and Juan Diego prevailed! The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City is the most visited Marian shrine in the world. Today, look for God’s presence in every person and situation around you.
