There's a reason that Mary Karr has authored three award-winning memoirs - her life stories are extraordinary, as is the fact that she survived her childhood in order to tell them. I recently re-read Liar's Club, and her gift as a poet reveals itself even in the the most painful events she recalls. I think that the conversation here was brave on her part, and I can't wait to read Lit.
