“I thirst” was central to the charism of Mother Theresa, and as such is written on the wall of every Missionary of Charity chapel next to the crucifix. One can (and many do) spend a lifetime meditating on that two word phrase.

This was a very moving piece for me to read. Especially, the part where Sr. Bernadette writes about reflecting on the depth of our own being away from distractions in order to become closer to God. I think I finally am experiencing that slowly myself. Something that has not happened in a long time for me. Also, Jesus’ thirst on he cross became so real for me as I read this. I never really thought about that in terms of Jesus thirsting for us and his wanting us to love him back so much. Thank you for this deep reflection.

Good. ‘I Thirst’ has broungt me to the right mood and spirit of this Good Friday morning. Today I can make an honest effort to go into the depth of my being and discover my own thirst and see if it corresponds to Jesus’ thirst. Thanks Sr. Bernadette.

Excellent reflection on Good Friday. The words “I Thirst” remind me of a passion drama that my parish presented last Friday with the same name. Knowing that Jesus’ cry and death on the cross is a gift of love helps to bring meaning to Good Friday.
