Having been a devout Mormon who is now Catholic, I found this article quite interesting. While there is definitely common moral ground between Catholics and Mormons, there are large doctrinal differences that cannot be overlooked. For example, the Mormon doctrine on polygamy and homosexuallity are quite different than that of Catholicism even though the resulting moral practice appears similar. I do believe it important to recognize our similarities and unite for the common good rather than always focusing on the differences. Nevertheless, we must always be aware of those differences.

I'm so happy to read this! Since moving to the west coast I've made a number of friends who are LDS and there really are so many moral similarities.

Interesting...my aunt married an LDS man, and their kids were all baptised into that church. Subsequently, she eventually converted to Mormonism herself. Point being, I have an understanding of the differences & similarities between the two religions.

I like that this article pointed out that one of the things Catholics & Mormons have in common: the misinformed stereotypes. In the ecumenical Christian community, I was the last youth minister to be asked to join the ecumenical youth ministry team. We have yet to even think of asking the mormons...

What an amazing world we would live in if the faithful of different denominations worked together instead of against each other.
