I will admit that my wife and I had one of those big fancy weddings. It was held in an historic church followed by a fancy country club reception and a caribbean honeymoon. We often look back and say that it would have been just as good, if not better, if it were held in our small local parish followed by a party in a tent at one of our parent's backyards. We felt we had to do the wedding the way we did it because that is how everyone does it where we live. I wonder how many people who choose the big fancy weddings only realize afterwards that a simpler wedding would have been just fine? That could be an interesting research study.

Marriage is a commitment between two people.Thier vows are to each other. Forget the rest of the world, forget the rules. Spend one day in the life of one other, in your own privet world and give thanks to have someone who would share this place their place with no one but you. "If it rains their is a roof" ??? What is rain but life given? How bout if it rains then your wrinkeld toes go squishy squashy in your shoes. If this is enough to ruin the day you have chosen to unite the rest of your life with a friend, partner, lover, then marriage might not mean to you what it means to me.
