If a Deacon gets a dispensation from Rome to remarry, does he retain his faculties and remain a Deacon?

True! But, I was told that a deacon and his wife should not have sex the night before they assist with communion at church. I can't find that in the Bible anywhere.

Jackie Brown,

A married deacon has both the sacrements of marriage and Holy Orders. Since sex is a part of marriage, I would presume that yes, married deacons can engage in the "marital act" with their wives without regard to their church duties.

Just a clarification: there are only male deacons in the church.

I disagree with deacon Kandra. Our mother church is not open to women to serve as deacons. Those who serve are part of the problem not of the solution.

Wonderful interview. I relate particularly to what Deacon Kandra described as his "long and winding trek through the desert." I had that moment in my life too, but I never described it in such compassionate terms.
