The practice of holding hands during the Lords Prayer in Mass seems new. I do not remember doing this when I was younger. It actually seems like something a protesent service would do. Is it rude to not hold hands and to hold my hands like the Priest does in offering the pray up to the Lord. My wife and I have had some dirty looks from those around us when we do not hold hands.

You are correct in watching (or waiting) for the priest. What is really going on is that we are waiting for the Altar to be cleared. After that happens you can get up. Or, if you are in a church that stands after Communion, you can sit. Its not "old-fashioned" just polite!

It's a question.
After receiving Communion I wait until after the priest is seated before I rise up off my knees to be seated. Is this current or old-fashioned?
