The word Yoga means as you said union with God and so in that sense christianity is Yoga.it is not just physical thing, that is called hatha yoga. And many yoga teachers and christian mystics do actually teach nearly the same thing. St. Athanasius said "Son of God became man so that we might become God". this seems very near the hindu teaching that we are god. maybe i am just confused? btw, christianity is said to share a lot with buddhism and that's why many christian monks practice buddhism. but of course we all know whst happened to willigis j√§ger. pax et bonum.
