HI
I have question that came from one of my confirmation students – situation – 1 spose has a STD – other spose does not – is it okay for them to use condoms to protect themselves.

Tammy, it is my understanding that condoms would not be acceptable for use because condoms would inhibit the openness of the sexual act towards life. From a practical standpoint, however, the couple should still probably abstain because even when used properly, condoms have extremely high failure rates, and, over the course of a marriage, there is a high likelihood that the STD will spread.
