Father Dave speaks with award-winning poet and best-selling author, Mary Karr. Her latest work is called Lit, the long-awaited sequel to her critically acclaimed and New York Times bestselling memoirs The Liars’ Club and Cherry.

A born story teller, Mary Karr writes and speaks with the same joy and sorrow found in her poetry and prose. A sought-after speaker, Karr has given distinguished talks at prestigious universities, libraries, and writers’ festivals, including Harvard, Oxford, Princeton, Brown, and my alma mater Syracuse University, where she spoke with Salmon Rushdie.

Her first memoir, The Liars Club, was recently named #4 on EW’s list of the top 100 books of the last 25 years. Her newest book, Lit has been hailed as “the memoir of the season” by Library Journal.

(Originally aired: 01/25/10. The Busted Halo Show with Father Dave Dwyer is on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, Sirius 159, and XM 117, Monday through Friday, 7:00pm to 10:00pm EST.
