CRS partners with St. Francois de Sales through the AidsRelief program to give medical care in the aftermath of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that ravaged the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday January 12, 2010. St. Francois de Sales, the oldest hospital in Port-au-Prince, was heavily damaged during the earthquake. CRS helped buy fuel for the hospital, recruited volunteers, procured an ambulance, and brought in truck loads of medicine. Many of the patients come with severe injuries and broken bones. The most frequent procedure in the operation room is limb amputation. The devastating earthquake affected more than 3 million people. Photo by Lane Hartill/Catholic Relief Services
