He also highly recommended the Divine Mercy Chaplet. He had a great devotion to it and he cononized Sister Faustina, How blessed we were to have had him walk among us, SANTO SUBITO!

Pope John Paul 11 did not change the Rosary rather he improved by adding more chapters of the Life of the Holy Family into Mysteries and named them the Luminous or Light Mysteries, such was his devotion to the Blessed Mother.

The Carthusians say that the Rosary really originated, in an only slightly more rudimentary form, within their monasteries. The Dominicans took this monastic devotion, saw the benefit to their own meditation and preaching, and for catechesis and prayer for everyone, and ran with it, to the great benefit of the Church.

I read with interest the comments of “Fr Joe” in regards to the rosary.What does he mean when he writes “these original mysteries cannot be fully appreciated without an awareness of what Jesus taught” is he implying that the rosary that was understood by countless Popes, Bishops,Priests, and Millons of the faithful- that had its beginning back to the time of St Dominic was somehow not what Our Blessed Mother had conveyed(to St Dominic)that it somehow was not “Complete” until Pope JP2 made his additions.I would take issue with those comments as it undermines the Rosary and those who have held and those who still holds this prayer as most holy. When Our Blessed Mother appeared at Fatima- she mentions the Rosary on each of her visitations and the importance of its meaning.

yes and the conciliar church could not even leave the rosary alone. jp2 had to add lumenous mysteries to it. Maybe someday the church will reveal the real third secret but I doubt it !!!! gee maybe it has something to do with Vatican 2??? Oh, thats right Cardinal Poupard told Russsiam the church has no intentions of converting Russia, but wait didnt the church say that was done in the 1980s???
