What is Pentecost?

Pentecost is the celebration of the Holy Spirit descending upon the disciples after the death and resurrection of Jesus. The Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity — God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit was meant to empower the disciples to share God’s love with others after Jesus’ death and resurrection. The Holy Spirit is present with us today for that same purpose — to be a source of inspiration, comfort, and an advocate on our faith journey.
