Take your risks now, as you grow older you become more fearful and less flexible. And I mean that literally. I hurt my knee this week on the treadmill, and it wasn’t even on. — Amy Poehler

FAST from unnecessary transportation today — walk and take the stairs when you have the chance.

PRAY for an appreciation of your age and stage in life right now — not longing for the past or future.

GIVE away or recycle things that remind you of negative or unhealthy habits from your past.

After Lent, tune in to BustedHalo.com every day for our Daily Jolts and MicroChallenges!

Am I the only one who doesn’t think that a Catholic organization such as Busted Halo should be promoting anything said by Poehler, who is a huge abortion and Planned Parenthood supporter?

I agree with Lynn and Bobby. Lent is precisely fast, pray and give alms. It is a time for spiritual growth to grow nearer to God and to draw back from worldly distractions that keep us from truly choosing God over worldly pursuits. We can slow down our lives and study scriptures and the writings about God and Christianity while more clearly seeing Jesus in others and helping the poor both in spirit and in their physical lives.

Our spirit is of the Lord and will live for eternity either in heaven or hell, so rejoice in the Lord always and praise his name on high for only through Jesus Christ can our soul dwell in the heavens above

Fast-Pray-Give. What an incredibly simple plan to follow daily. Taking stairs or walking recommits our need to treat our body as the temple within which the Holy Spirit dwells. Praying for the grace to appreciate where we are in THIS stage of our life reminds us of the sanctity of life. Giving up things that remind us of unhealthy or negative habits reinforces our ongoing desire to change-to become the best version of ourselves. Happy Thursday everyone! God bless!
