St. Ignatius of Loyola is a great saint for our busy and over-scheduled lives. His first followers ran into the problem of not being able to pray often throughout the day. So, St. Ignatius recommended a practice called the Examen — an introspective prayer done at the end of the day. Here are some simple steps to help you get started. You should also check out Phil Fox Rose’s What Works column on the Examen.
Right-click or control-click (depending on your system) here to download a printable PDF of these 6 Simple Steps.
Today’s homework assignment: For the next few days, practice the Examen at the end of the day to see where God is present in your life and what areas you need to allow God into more. Also, for the rest of the summer keep checking back with the Busted Halo Question Box to ask and find out all sort of answers to your questions of faith.
