Father Dave Responds to Charlottesville

Responding to the white supremacist rally and violent protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, last weekend, Father Dave reads from the statements of Cardinal Daniel N. DiNardo, president of the USCCB, Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, Diocese of Newark, Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, Diocese of Philadelphia, and Sister Patricia McGuire, president of Trinity Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Reacting to the ongoing racial violence that plagues our country, Father Dave says: “The time for all people, but particularly white people, to be passive or even silent about racism in our midst has ended. … We need to be able to be brave enough to call out what is wrong in our midst from the perspective of our faith.” (Original Air 08-14-17)
