Every week, we gather to celebrate the Eucharist, and every week, just as the priest gets to the most stirring line of his homily… a cell phone goes off. Or a baby cries. Or someone starts to cough violently. Distractions in church are so common place that they sometimes feel like part of the Mass. Still, distractions can be, well, distracting. One caller phoned in to ask Father Dave, “How do you put up with it?”
As always, Father Dave shows a charitable spirit to distractors in church, but also explains which parts of the Mass are the worst to interrupt.
